For my Eagle Scout project, I really wanted to do something to help animals. I love animals! I live really close to the Shelton View Forest and wondered if I could build something to help the animals there. I started researching owls and found a lot of fun facts about them. Did you know that owls have really long legs? I worked with the Shelton View Forest Stewardship Association to come up with an owl nesting platform design for the Great Horned Owls in the forest.

I had help from my family and another Boy Scout building 5 nesting platforms. Shaun from the Canopy Cat Rescue came out and installed them for me.

It was a really fun project, and I hope I see some owls using the nesting platforms we built. So next time you are in the forest, look up! See if you can spot the nesting platforms we built.
